Our policies:​

Education and Training Policy:​

  • To adopt a competency-based innovative education model that will equip the learner with professional skills as well as the competencies and lifelong learning skills required to be ready for the future.
  • To provide the learner with the opportunity to learn in accordance with the requirements of the developing and changing age and to present this to all learners face-to-face, distance, mixed or hybrid ways.
  • To maintain the relationship between undergraduate and graduate education programs and research and development activities by strengthening them through applied training and new models.
  • To continuously improve education and training processes with the participation of students and other stakeholders, by strengthening national and international cooperation.

 

Research and Innovation Policy:​

  • To strengthen the research ecosystem that will enable researchers to turn their ideas about research and innovation into projects or scientific studies.
  • To carry out research and innovation activities at the university in a coordinated manner in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and national priorities.
  • To base multidisciplinary, international and national cooperation within the scope of research and innovation activities and to provide the necessary environment.
  • To create a research climate in the university where researchers and strategic stakeholders are appreciated and encouraged, and an open science environment is created.
  • To provide guidance, financial and intellectual property rights support in order to protect the sustainable research environment and conditions.
  • To adopt a continuous improvement approach by periodically evaluating the research footprint of the university.

 

Social Contribution Policy:​

  • To institutionally manage social contribution activities at the university with defined processes.
  • To maintain stakeholder-oriented, transparent and accountable governance in line with the university's responsibilities towards its stakeholders.
  • To carry out programs to raise individuals with a high sense of responsibility in line with the development of the university ecosystem and society, to carry out scientific studies and support for the needs of the society and environmental health. 
  • To support sustainable communities by institutionally adopting the principles of human rights, employee rights and welfare, occupational health and safety, academic freedom and business ethics as a responsible university.

 

Sustainable University Policy:​

  • Taking Sustainable Development Goals as a basis in corporate practices and services by taking into account the ecological, economic and social dimensions of sustainability in an integrated manner.
  • To adopt the conscious consumption of resources, waste management and energy efficiency in order to reduce the ecological impact of the university and to reflect it in corporate practices.
  • Adopting the principles of gender equality, inclusiveness, reduction of inequalities, partnerships for strong institutions and purposes in corporate governance.
  • Based on respect for the fundamental, social and economic rights of human beings; to make occupational health and safety principles, academic freedom and business ethics widespread institutionally.

 

Internationalization Policy:​

  • To manage and promote qualified internationalization practices and resources in an integrated manner in education, research and social contribution activities involving students and staff, who are the stakeholders of the university.
  • To benefit from opportunities such as international partner programs, bilateral agreements, collaborations and exchange programs in accordance with the changing education and training paradigms.
  • To strengthen corporate competence by utilizing the potential of international expertise.
  • To monitor the performance in line with internationalization and to ensure its continuous development by evaluating it together with the stakeholders.

 

Quality Policy:​

  • To manage the quality at the university for the future institutionally and in line with international and national quality assurance systems.
  • To evaluate quality and improve it through defined processes, by applying qualitative and quantitative methods in an integrated manner, with output and process-oriented measurements, in line with institutional development. 
  • To maintain quality improvement, continuous innovation and transformation with the voluntary participation of stakeholders, together with change agents working in quality teams, especially quality ambassadors.
  • To adopt the quality culture, which is based on ensuring quality with a sense of responsibility towards the society and meeting stakeholder expectations in a balanced way, as a common culture in which all stakeholders, especially academics, researchers, employees and leaders, are observed.

 

Sustainable Purchasing Policy:

  • To prioritize sourcing goods and services from local suppliers to reduce transportation emissions and support the local economy.
  • To promote circular economy principles and minimize waste generation, our university prefers recycled materials in building projects.
  • To minimize environmental impact, energy-efficient and eco-friendly products are preferred in all procurement activities.
  • To promote sustainability throughout the supply chain, actively engage with suppliers and contractors.

 

Sustainable Investment Policy:

  • To maximize long-term returns and mitigate risks, our university integrates environmental, social, and governance factors into investment decisions.
  • Investments prioritize sectors promoting sustainability, including renewable energy, clean technology, and healthcare solutions.
  • To promote sustainability best practices and participate in shareholders, our university engages with companies and fund managers.

 

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy:

  • Sakarya University strictly prohibits discrimination based on legally protected characteristics such as age, gender, disability, race, religion or belief, refugee and asylum seeker status, pregnancy, and maternity.
  • The university takes various measures to promote diversity and inclusivity, including education, awareness-raising activities, ensuring accessibility, and implementing fair recruitment and promotion policies.
  • Sakarya University organizes and supports seminars, workshops, and events to increase understanding of diversity and enhance an inclusive culture among its community members.

 

Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy

  • Non-Discrimination Statement: Sakarya University strictly prohibits discrimination and harassment based on protected characteristics, including but not limited to age, gender, disability, race, religion, pregnancy, and nationality.
  • Reporting Procedure: The university provides clear channels for reporting incidents of discrimination and harassment. Students, faculty, staff, and other members of the university community are encouraged to report any incidents to designated individuals or offices, either formally or informally. They are assured confidentiality and protection against retaliation.
  • Investigation and Response: Upon receiving a report, the university will promptly investigate all allegations of discrimination and harassment in a fair and impartial manner. Disciplinary action, including termination of employment or expulsion, will be taken against individuals found to have engaged in such behavior.
  • Education and Training: The university is committed to raising awareness and preventing discrimination and harassment through education and training programs for students, faculty, and staff. These programs will provide information on the university's policies, procedures, and resources available for addressing discrimination and harassment, as well as promoting a culture of respect, inclusivity, and diversity.

 

Anti-bribery and Corruption Policy

  • Bribery and corruption in any form, whether involving public officials, private individuals, or organizations, are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
  • The university is committed to complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and international standards relating to anti-bribery and corruption, including the Turkish Penal Code,  Regulation on the Principles of Ethical Behavior of the Public Officials and Application Procedures and Essentials and relevant international conventions such as the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
  • No member of the university community, including faculty, staff, students, contractors, or vendors, shall offer, promise, give, solicit, or accept bribes or other improper inducements in connection with university activities or relationships with external parties.
  • Any individual who becomes aware of or suspects bribery or corruption within the university must report it immediately to the designated authority or through the university's confidential reporting mechanism. The university will protect whistleblowers from retaliation and ensure confidentiality to the fullest extent permitted by law (Law Related To The Establishment Council Of Ethics For Public Service And Making Modifications On Some Laws numbered 5176)
  • Sakarya University provides regular training and awareness programs to educate members of the university community about the risks and consequences of bribery and corruption, as well as their responsibilities under this policy.
 

Service Buyers Satisfaction Policy:​

  • To monitor the feedbacks and complaints of the service users by securing them and to deal with the complaints objectively and to ensure that they are resolved as soon as possible.
  • To increase the participation and feedback of current and potential customers in the processes by establishing transparent and effective communication mechanisms with those who benefit from the services.
  • To ensure continuous improvement within the scope of corporate quality management by measuring the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of processes, services and applications in order to realize the value propositions offered to service buyers.

 

Human Resources Policy:​

  • To approach human resources as a corporate value by planning the medium and long-term human resources needs in line with the mission and vision of the institution, to evaluate the performance in order to ensure personal development, to provide the necessary support and to offer development opportunities.
  • To implement multi-faceted communication with all employee groups within the understanding of governance.

  • To create communication environments that will strengthen the corporate culture by adopting the corporate values and identity of the stakeholders.
